After a decent outing with Mumbai Indians in the inaugural IPL, the 29-year-old fast bowler is back in his home team. The lanky fast bowler burst onto the international scene in his first tour - Zimbabwe in 2000-01 where he played a key role in India's winning a Test outside the subcontinent for the first time in 15 years. He is a classic left arm bowler who has the ability to move the ball off the wicket. He mixes up his pace and accuracy with subtle variations that makes him a dangerous operator.
He could not keep pace with his promising career as injury forced him out of the team soon. The high point of Nehra's career came in the 2003 World Cup against England, where he scalped 6-23.
